ACT News #7 - April 2025

We hope everyone had a Happy Easter! Here is what we got up to before the break, and some things to look forward to soon...

Inclusive Art Group Exhibition

Our Art Group held a display of their work last week before the Easter break. This half term, we have been looking at nature and making crafts from recycled materials, and produced a variety of projects, including an entire model garden made from a cardboard box! We hope to display some of our work around the centre for people to enjoy. We returned alongside Community Meal on the 22nd April - we hope to see everyone at a session soon!

Community Meal and Inclusive Art Group runs term time on Tuesday between 12 and 1:45pm. Come and join us for a free hot meal and activities!

Dance Group - New Time and Upcoming Showcases

On April 13th, Emotion in Motion had their first performance after the church’s Palm Sunday service - thank you so much to everyone who came! 

This is not a one off, however, as we have successfully received funding for 3 showcase events! This will be an opportunity to perform our dancing, lead a workshop for people to have a go and then to share a meal together, reflecting the cultures of the dance group members. 

Please put one of the following dates in your diary to come and join in the fun:

17th May, 14th June, 19th July all at 3pm-6pm.

If you would like to take part in the group on a regular basis, we run free dance sessions at Ascension from a new start time of 6-7pm. Everyone is welcome!

Easter Egg Thank Yous - Cadbury and McLaren

We'd like to thank Cadbury and McLaren for their generous donation of chocolate Easter eggs - Cadbury to our Food Bank, and McLaren to both our Food Bank and the Church's toddler group. We really appreciate the support!
