ACT News #2 - October 2024

Welcome back to ACT News! In this edition we have some updates on project work, and a special event coming soon:

Project update: Community Meal and Art Group are CLOSED on the

29th for half term. We will re-open the week after, the 5th November!

Supported Volunteers - Greenwich Trip

Last week, our group of supported volunteers went on a trip to Greenwich!

We went for a walk along the Thames before stopping off at the market for lunch. Each person bought an item in the market that they'd like to try and recreate, and we will be working on these recipes in our cooking sessions over the next few weeks.

In future, we hope to visit new places have lots of new experiences as a group. We can't wait to see how our volunteers grow from this!

EVENT: Young Adventurers x Messy Church

5th November, 4pm-6pm

Young Adventurers' After-School Club and the 'Messy Church' team are teaming up to provide an evening of firework themed crafts, a delicious hot meal and sparklers!

This event is for children 10 and under and their families. If you know people who might be interested, do spread the word; we'd love to see as many people join in the fun as possible!

Emotion in Motion Project - The Movement Fund Funding

As mentioned in our last newsletter, our Dance group recently was awarded funding from Sport England, in partnership with the National Lottery. We would like to thank both organisations, as well as lottery players, for allowing us to run free dance and movement sessions for 42 weeks! You can attend our sessions at Ascension Church Centre every Wednesday, 7-8pm. For more information, please contact admin@ascensioncommunitytrust.org.
