Recently we have developed our garden space to make it more versatile and usable. Both local volunteers and other partner groups have helped us make new bed areas, vegetable patches and a pond. Along with our bug hotel, this provides an increasing number of gardening activities for adults and young people to get involved with.

We currently host students with complex needs in taking part with weekly gardening sessions. Helping to develop and maintain the garden has both educational and therapeutic benefits.
Longer term we hope to make this space even more accessible for the local community adding outdoor social space and greenhouses.

We are also in the process of starting gardening projects in the local community, aiming to transform unused green spaces in Custom House into developed garden areas. This is with funding from LBN Community Assemblies. If you would like to find out more our be involved please get in touch on admin@ascensioncommunitytrust.org or 020 7511 1232. There are opportunities available to share ideas, volunteer with gardening itself out in the community as well as get involved longer term with our community garden space.
